What this is
A worksheet generator that runs in your browser. Everything else on this site is a finished PDF, which is the right format right up to the moment you want something the file does not contain — a name, four particular letters, sums that stop at ten. Those sheets are editable here: type the name, set the range, press Shuffle for a different maze, and the page redraws as you type.

Which sheet to build first
The builder will make any of fifteen sheet types, which is fifteen ways to build the wrong one. The order below is the same one the printed books follow, and the only question that decides where to start is what your child can already hold a pencil for.

Three things the ready-made books cannot do
A name. No shelf can stock every name, so name tracing worksheets are the sheet parents ask for most and the one nobody sells. Type it once and the row sizes itself — a long name shrinks to fit the width rather than running off the page. It is also the answer to “printable worksheets for preschoolers to write their name”, which is a real thing people search for and a thing no fixed PDF can be.
Only the letters that are wrong. Most children reverse a handful — b and d, p and q, s and z — and reprinting A to Z to practise four of them wastes twenty-two rows and a child’s patience. Type the four.
The range you are actually on. A printed sums book commits to ten or to twenty. Set the largest answer to whatever this week is, and press Shuffle for a fresh page of the same difficulty tomorrow.
How it works, and what it does not do
The PDF is put together in your browser, on your device. Nothing you type is uploaded, no account is asked for, and no file is stored on our server — which is also why the download is instant rather than a queue. The half-built book is kept in your own browser’s storage, so closing the tab does not lose it, and Start over clears it.
Everything is vector and black-ink only, at the same line weights as the printed books: 3 pt outlines a crayon tip stays inside, dotted tracing letters in the same weight, and the four-line rule with the baseline solid and the midline dashed. Set your printer to 100% scale, not Fit to page — the printing guide explains what Fit to page silently changes.
What you can build
Fifteen sheet types, in six groups. Every one is vector and black-ink only, so a page costs a few paise of ink rather than half a cartridge.
Name tracing worksheets carrying your child's own name, plus only the letters they are stuck on, words for Friday's spelling test, and any run of numbers. Dotted letters on the four-line rule, same as the printed books.
Blank four-line paper with a name and date line, in three line heights. Or type a sentence and get a row to read, a row to trace and four to write unaided.
Sums generated fresh in the range you set — to ten, to twenty, to a hundred — in columns or across the line. Plus counting boxes and ten frames.

Printing what you built
Match the paper
Pick the size before you build, not after. A4 in most of the world, US Letter in the United States and Canada — printing one on the other shrinks every letter by about 6%.
Print at 100%
Set Scale to 100% or Actual size, never Fit to page. That is what keeps tracing letters at the height a small hand is learning, and what keeps squared paper actually square.
Editable, not fixed
A downloaded PDF is finished. This is not: change the name, the letters, the number range or the maze size and the preview redraws as you type, so a customizable sheet can be re-cut for next week in about ten seconds.
Build a book, not a sheet
Add a cover, then a few pages, then shuffle the maze for a second one. It saves in your browser as you go, so closing the tab does not lose it.
