12 sheets: ten frames to 20, tens and ones, compare numbers, sums and differences within 20, missing addends, doubles, two-digit sums without regrouping, skip counting, word problems, answers
These Christmas math worksheets are 12 sheets of 1st and 2nd grade math with Christmas pictures drawn as outlines a child can color: trees, gifts, ornaments, bells, stars and candy canes. There are 114 problems in all, starting with ten frames to 20 and ending with two-digit sums and word problems, so one book covers a mixed class.

The 12 sheets
- Sheets 1 and 2: count ornaments in two ten frames (11 to 20), then add two groups of gifts within 10.
- Sheet 3: tens and ones. A tall gift box holds 10, the loose ornaments are ones, and the child writes the tens, the ones and the number.
- Sheet 4: compare two-digit numbers with greater than, less than or equal. Two of the twelve are equal on purpose.
- Sheets 5 to 8: sums and differences within 20, missing addends such as 9 plus what makes 16, and doubles next to doubles plus one (6 + 6, then 6 + 7).
- Sheets 9 and 10: two-digit addition and subtraction with no regrouping, for 2nd grade.
- Sheets 11 and 12: skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s with stars, and six Christmas word problems.

Which sheets for which grade
A 1st grader will find sheets 1 to 8 and 11 right at their level. Sheets 9 and 10 are 2nd grade work, and none of the two-digit problems needs carrying or borrowing, because that comes later in 2nd grade. The word problems mix both. The first one, Mia hangs 8 red ornaments and 7 gold ornaments, is a 1st grade sum, while the last one, 36 paper snowflakes with 14 hung up, is a 2nd grade difference.

Answers and printing
The last two pages give every answer, sheet by sheet. Print at 100% scale so the answer boxes stay big enough to write in. The book comes as an A4 PDF and a US Letter PDF with the same pages, in black ink only.
If a child needs more practice on one skill, the tens and ones worksheets and the 2 digit addition worksheets go further. For November, there are the Thanksgiving math worksheets for kindergarten and 1st grade.
Printing this one correctly
In your printer dialog set Scale to 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page. Fit to page shrinks the tracing letters and they stop matching the size a child's hand is learning.
Plain paper is fine for crayons and pencils. If your child uses felt pens, 100 gsm paper stops the ink bleeding to the next sheet.
